MTN’s launch of commercial 5G and its upcoming deployment throughout Benin are supported in part by a syndicated loan of 65 billion FCFA obtained this year from various regional financial institutions. 
In January 2024, MTN announced US$215 million of investments over the next 3 years to strengthen its digital infrastructure in Benin.
“This moment symbolises much more than just a technological breakthrough. For us, it represents a new chapter in our commitment to providing our partners with innovative technology solutions,” said Viviane Sissuh, Human Resources Director of MTN Benin.
With this new technological advancement, MTN is helping to accelerate the digital transformation of businesses and expand digital services accessible in Benin, particularly in terms of streaming, video gaming and the Internet of Things (IoT).
