Ethio Telecom is continuing its extensive 5G deployment project in the country. In early November, the company announced the extension of 5G coverage to the cities of Wolaita Sodo, Hosaena and Arba Minch.
These new deployments reflect Ethio Telecom’s commitment to modernizing Ethiopia’s telecom infrastructure.
“In response to rapidly evolving customer needs, we are committed to deploying digital and telecom infrastructure that increases customer satisfaction, improves service quality and ensures reliable and high-quality services,” said Ethio Telecom in a statement.
Ethio Telecom’s target for the 2024/2025 financial year is to introduce the 5G service in 15 additional cities. The company’s 5G offers speeds of up to 10Gbps, with ultra-low latency of 1ms, enabling the interconnection of up to one million devices per square kilometre.
