Burkina Faso: services deteriorating due to lack of site access

07 October 2024

Orange Burkina Faso no longer has access to almost 15% of its telecom sites, reports Jérôme Hénique, the executive director of Orange Africa and the Middle East (OMEA).

The technical teams can no longer go to certain sites to carry out essential maintenance services because of the security situation prevailing in certain localities of the country.

"There is a high level of insecurity, red zones that prevent us from operating in part of the country… we are not going to expose our employees to go and do maintenance, repair them at the slightest security risk. We obviously choose to only operate in a part of the territory where security conditions are associated," said Hénique.

Accordingly, there exists an ongoing deterioration of the quality of service provided by Orange to its customers.
