MTN obtains 65 billion FCFA loan for upgrades

In Benin, MTN has obtained a syndicated loan of 65 billion FCFA in Benin to upgrade systems, improve customer experience and the extension of the network, and deploy 5G.

West African Development Bank (BOAD) contributed 20 billion FCFA to the financing. Banque Atlantique, the lead arranger of the agreement, provided 30 billion FCFA. The financial institution also mobilized 15 billion FCFA from Société Générale, Banque Internationale pour l’Industrie et le Commerce (BIIC), and BGFI Bank, among others.

The CEO of Banque Atlantique said he was proud "to contribute, through this financing, to the acceleration of Benin's digital transformation, the creation of new economic opportunities and the strengthening of the country's positioning on the international scene."
