Nigeria’s telcos ordered to audit billing systems

29 July 2024

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has ordered telecommunications companies to conduct a comprehensive audit of their billing systems.

The NCCA is organising a series of focus group discussion (FGD) sessions with consumers to check their awareness of tariffs and gather recommendations for a better tariff system. These measures come while operators are lobbying the NCC to increase the rates of their services; but subscribers are complaining about the deterioration in the quality of telecom services, as well as the rapid exhaustion of their browsing packages.
