The agreement for the CI-Alerte system was signed on April 22 in Abidjan between the Ivorian government and a consortium of American companies led by Fadox. The signing ceremony was attended by Kalil Konaté, Minister of Digital Transition and Digitization, along with Jessica Davis Ba, the US Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire.
“With climate change and growing security challenges, it is crucial to anticipate. This alert system will not only save lives, but it also marks an important step toward our technological sovereignty,” said Minister Konaté.
The CI-Alerte system enables authorities to instantly communicate with affected populations, even in remote areas that typically experience limited internet access. It is designed to be accessible on all types of mobile phones and can deliver precise, multilingual, and targeted messages within seconds.
This initiative aligns with Côte d'Ivoire's National Digital Development Strategy (SNNCI 2021-2025) and follows the recent visit of Sarah Morgenthau, the U.S. Department of State's Special Representative for Business and Economic Affairs. During her visit, Morgenthau advocated for American companies and explored potential collaboration in various sectors, notably digital technology.
