This significant program, funded by €13.1 million from the European Union, Germany, and France, aims to advance public reforms and private initiatives, driving the country towards a more connected and inclusive digital society.
The Goin'Digital project is structured around three main axes: governance, innovation, and inclusion. Its primary objectives include:
• Enhancing Governance: Improving the tools and mechanisms within the Ministry of Communication, Telecommunications, and Digital Affairs (MCTN) to effectively manage digital transformation across various ministries.
• Encouraging Innovation: Fostering technological innovation and entrepreneurship within Senegal, supporting startups and businesses in leveraging digital technologies.
• Promoting Inclusion: Training national and local public institutions to implement inclusive digital offerings, ensuring that all segments of the population can benefit from digital advancements.
Alioune Sall, the Minister of Communication, expressed his satisfaction at the project's launch during the first steering committee meeting, emphasizing its significance in strengthening digital transformation for sustainable development in Senegal. He noted that this initiative aligns with the country’s new digital strategy, the New Technological Deal, and aims to modernize public institutions while stimulating entrepreneurial innovation.
The Goin'Digital project is aligned with Senegal's national strategy, Vision Senegal 2050, which envisions building an inclusive and efficient digital society. As the country experiences accelerated transformation, this project aims to promote digital inclusion, particularly for marginalized groups such as women and youth, facilitating their participation in the digital economy.
The success of the Goin'Digital initiative hinges on the ongoing commitment of all stakeholders involved and their ability to adapt solutions to emerging technologies and local needs. Furthermore, establishing rigorous evaluation mechanisms will be essential to measure the project’s effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to interventions.
