09 April 2025

Hayo has received the prestigious Content Service Provider (CSP) and Applications Service Provider (ASP) licenses from the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA).

These licenses empower Hayo to deliver advanced digital solutions and communication services throughout Kenya, facilitating local businesses and government authorities in accessing cutting-edge technologies supported by local expertise.

Kenya, often referred to as ‘The Silicon Savannah,’ has blossomed into a vibrant hub for technology and innovation. The newly acquired CSP license allows Hayo to develop, distribute, and manage digital content, enhancing user experiences across the nation. Meanwhile, the ASP license enables the company to deliver innovative software solutions aimed at accelerating Kenya’s digital development. According to the GSMA, Kenya’s digital economy is projected to contribute a remarkable $5.11 billion to the country’s GDP by 2028, creating approximately 300,000 new jobs and boosting tax revenues by $1.16 billion.

"Kenya has a booming digital economy, attracting massive investments from tech giants like Microsoft and Google in recent years," said Feraz Ahmed, CEO of Hayo. "It's an exciting market for us, and we've been eager to expand our presence to meet growing customer demands. These licenses represent a significant milestone as we continue to broaden our footprint in Kenya, allowing us to deliver a wider array of digital services to support the flourishing local digital economy."

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) plays a vital role in driving the economic and social development of Kenya. This is underscored in the government's Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to elevate Kenya to a middle-income nation by 2030. According to Public First, every $1 invested in digital technology in Kenya is expected to generate over $5 in broader economic value by 2030. Hayo's licensing by the CA highlights its dedication to regulatory compliance, data privacy, innovation, and customer-centric service delivery throughout the country.

"We’re looking forward to collaborating with Hayo’s customers and partners to seize the growing opportunities in Kenya, enhance the digital economy, and positively impact the lives of local residents," said Ahmed. "Over the past year, Hayo has seen substantial global expansion, establishing offices in Kenya, South Africa, Niger, Cameroon, Sri Lanka, and the U.S. We are prepared to strengthen our presence in Kenya and support local businesses with innovative solutions."
