Eutelsat connects 1 million in sub-Saharan Africa

Eutelsat has connected one million unserved people in sub-Saharan Africa, meeting a commitment made in 2022 to the Digital Coalition Partner2Connect. The deadline initially set for achieving the objective is 2027.

“Eutelsat’s Konnect hotspot Wi-Fi services, powered by the EUTELSAT KONNECT satellite, have played a vital role in delivering affordable high-speed internet to rural areas of sub-Saharan Africa where terrestrial networks remain inaccessible. With speeds ranging from 5 Mbps to 100 Mbps at competitive rates, the service has enabled individuals, schools, businesses and healthcare centres to access essential digital resources, opening up opportunities for education, e-commerce and critical services,” said Eutelsat in a statement.
