Mali confirms price for Sotelma’s licence renewal

The Malian government has set the sum that Sotelma, 51% owned by Maroc Telecom, will have to pay at 160 billion CFA francs to renew its telecoms license that expires in 2024.

The payment of the operating license is spread over three tranches: 80 billion CFA francs by 20 October, 40 billion by 31 December and another 40 billion by 31 March 2025, according to a letter from the Minister of Economy, Alousseni Sanou.

Sotelma's license renewal will allow it to develop its investments in the provision of high-speed telecom services and innovative products in the country.
