ZAMREN installs WiFi at Kaunda International Airport

The Zambia Research and Education Network (ZAMREN) installed WiFi between the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and the East Park Mall in the capital, Lusaka.

This initiative to provide free internet to the two public facilities enables travelling researchers and students in public, small and medium-sized organisations, and other stakeholders to conduct their everyday business. Access is provided via the eduroam (education roaming) platform.

ZAMREN CEO Stein Mkandawire said that the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport WiFi would allow visitors, investors, and frequent travellers to communicate immediately upon arrival in the country.

“The internet is being provided at no cost, and everyone can access it,” said Mkandawire.

The agency's goal is to provide internet access to various public institutions such as colleges and schools so that students could easily do research and complete their assignments.
