The Competition Commission of South Africa (CCSA) has authorised Blue Label Telecoms to take control of Cell C, subject to certain conditions.

“The Commission recommended to the Competition Court to approve the transaction subject to conditions aimed at mitigating problems linked to the exchange of information and conditions guaranteeing the continued use of certain communication channels, distribution of prepaid airtime for a certain period, after the transaction,” said CCSA in a release.

Cell C applied to transfer its network operating licenses and radio frequency spectrum to TPC, a subsidiary of Blue Label, in December 2023.
