NuRAN Wireless gains $5 million loan for renewable energy

01 May 2024

NuRAN Wireless has obtained a $5 million loan from Facility for Energy Inclusion (FEI) to finance the construction of renewable energy infrastructure for the company's mobile networks in Africa. They will also be used to deploy new telecoms sites on the continent, particularly in Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

“This facility will allow us to execute our 2024 construction plan and achieve significant milestones by the end of the calendar year,” said Francis Letourneau, CEO of NuRAN Wireless Inc.

This initiative is part of NuRAN Wireless' ambition to expand and strengthen its telecoms network in Africa. In 2021, the company has committed to deploying at least 10,000 telecom sites on the continent in five years.
