The number of subscriptions to mobile financial services in the Democratic Republic of Congo increased from 6.59 million in the third quarter of 2020 to 21.67 million in the third quarter of 2023, according to the Postal Regulatory Authority and Telecommunications of Congo (ARPTC)..png?lu=592)
These figures show an increase of 228.8% over the period. The mobile money penetration rate also increased from 7.5% to 22.8%.
During 2020-2023, the number of new platforms available exploded, mobile subscriptions rose from 39.9 million to 56.2 million, and the mobile penetration rate increased from 45.1% to 59%.
