A Strategic Partnership for Seamless Urban Transit

Teltronic supplied a robust TETRA-based communication solution designed to meet the demanding needs of a modern metro system. The deployment encompassed the entire communication ecosystem, including network infrastructure, onboard units, handheld and fixed terminals, and an advanced control center. This integrated approach ensures seamless coordination between trains, control operators, and maintenance crews, fostering safety and efficiency throughout the network.

Building a Reliable and Connected Network

The project covered nearly 20km of the metro route, connecting the bustling city center at Ben Thanh with the northeastern district of Suoi Tien. The network infrastructure guarantees consistent TETRA coverage across both underground and elevated sections, enabling real-time communication and operational control. The onboard radio equipment and control consoles for the 17 trains facilitate quick, clear communication vital for safety and coordination. Additionally, portable and fixed terminals are supplied to maintenance and security personnel, ensuring rapid response and effective management.

Integrated Solutions for Enhanced Operations

Teltronic’s system was seamlessly integrated with other critical train subsystems, including Public Address and Intercom systems, as well as the Train Control & Management System (TCMS). The control center features six operator workstations situated across two locations, providing centralized oversight and emergency management capabilities — an essential component for safe and reliable metro operation.

Supporting a City on the Move

Line 1 of Ho Chi Minh City Metro, spanning 19.7km with a mix of underground and elevated sections, aims to alleviate urban congestion and improve mobility for millions.

“We are very proud to have contributed to this historic project. Our technology ensures secure, reliable, and efficient communications, which are vital for daily operations,” said Felipe Sanjuan, Teltronic’s Transport Business Development Director.

Strengthening Presence in Asia’s Transit Market

This successful implementation marks a significant milestone for Teltronic, reinforcing its status as a trusted provider of critical communication solutions for mass transit systems. The project exemplifies the company’s commitment to delivering innovative, reliable technology that supports urban development and mobility in one of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant cities.
