The MoU builds on a previous agreement between Telkomsel and ZTE made in November 2024, which focused on the implementation of an AI-powered network solution within Telkomsel’s existing 4G infrastructure. Under this new collaboration, the two companies will jointly introduce the industry’s first native AI baseband solution, which includes enhanced AI-based operations and maintenance (O&M) capabilities for smarter and more efficient network management.

ZTE emphasizes that this native AI baseband solution will improve energy efficiency and guarantee service quality at the user level, ensuring a superior user experience.

In addition to the AI initiatives, Telkomsel and ZTE will cooperate to modernize 5G-LAN and FTTR-B (Fibre to the Room for Business) solutions, aimed at providing faster, more stable, and flexible enterprise connectivity. Furthermore, they plan to launch an ultra-compact private network solution tailored for industrial customers in Indonesia, which will utilize ZTE’s innovative NodeEngine card to reduce additional infrastructure requirements.

“This strategic collaboration with ZTE enables us to integrate AI-driven solutions and cutting-edge network technologies to offer smarter and more adaptive connectivity, meeting the evolving needs of both individuals and enterprises in Indonesia. Together, we will accelerate industrial transformation across various sectors,” said Indra Mardiatna, Chief Technology Officer of Telkomsel.
