MTN Business Botswana and Ethica to launch intelligent connectivity solution

The collaboration introduces MTN SDIA (Software Defined Intelligent Access), an innovative connectivity solution designed to provide businesses with reliable, uninterrupted internet access through intelligent automation.

The new service leverages Ethica’s CloudAccess technology to aggregate multiple internet connections, automatically switching between networks in the event of a failure or service degradation. Unlike traditional backup systems or complex SD-WAN architectures, MTN SDIA ensures session continuity, effectively preventing business disruptions during outages.

“Our customers need the assurance that their operations won’t stop if an internet connection fails. CloudAccess gives us the ability to consistently meet this expectations,” said Oteng Mogomela, Sales and Marketing Manager at MTN Business Botswana.

Mogomela added that the solution aligns with MTN’s broader strategy to support Botswana’s growing digital economy through smart and secure infrastructure.

Amidst accelerating digital transformation in Botswana, local businesses are increasingly demanding stable, reliable connectivity for cloud applications, multi-site operations, and customer engagement platforms. MTN believes that the SDIA solution will deliver more stable connections, improved application performance, and a higher level of service, helping businesses stay operational and competitive in a digital-first environment.

It is noteworthy that MTN’s focus in Botswana is primarily on business services, including internet connectivity, VPN solutions, and other ICT offerings, following its withdrawal from the retail consumer market in the country in 2019. This partnership underscores MTN’s ongoing commitment to empowering business customers with innovative, resilient connectivity solutions tailored to the evolving demands of Botswana’s digital economy.
