The Dialog Suraksha School Van Location Tracker — developed by The Connection Workshop, a subsidiary of South Asian Technologies — is being promoted to school van operators under Dialog’s Suraksha parental control service.

The tracker uses GPS technology and Dialog’s 4G network to provide parents and guardians with real-time location updates, notifications, and shared access features. Up to two family members can monitor the school van’s location via Dialog’s TeDi Fleet app, and SMS alerts notify parents about key events such as the van’s arrival or departure from designated locations like home or school.

Dialog highlighted that the solution also benefits school van operators by enhancing accountability and reliability, strengthening trust with parents, and streamlining daily operations.

To utilize the service, school van operators need to purchase and install the device in each vehicle. The device is described as plug-and-play and easy to install, costing LKR 18,990 per unit, with an annual subscription fee of LKR 1,910 plus applicable taxes. The company added that the tracker solution has received approval from Sri Lanka’s Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRCSL).
